A New Year Begins- Step by Step

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

Those were the words of Bilbo to Frodo about adventures in the Lord of the Rings my all time favorite movie.

When I think back not only on 2020, but also many moments in my life since I rededicated my life to Jesus in July 1989, I am glad I went through those moments step by step with no foreknowledge of what was to come.

Last year, funny because it was just one day ago, was an excellent example. I had no idea of what was about to transpire. I am glad I did not know all about the pandemic, shutdowns and the changes they would bring.

This year I also have no idea of what will transpire. I have plans for next week such as my morning class starting again, but that is not guaranteed. We never know what will happen.

But I do know one thing that will never change, which is that Jesus will be with me step by step and he already knows what will happen.

There were many blessings last year. It was not only difficulties. Last year at this time I did not know I would meet my friends in blogger chat. I did not know I would meet my new Brazilian friends who live in Winnipeg Canada. Those are just a few examples.
