Another winter storm system came and went in my state Nebraska. While some parts of the state did receive large amounts of snow, in my city it was once again much ado about nothing. When the TV weather people talk about how much we could get before the snow storm comes, I find it amusing. It is part of life in my city that the big one misses my city. At least I got a day off with pay due to all schools canceling for the day.

The same is true in the spring and summer when it comes to thunderstorms and tornadoes. Yes, we get thunderstorms here, but the tornadoes always seem to skip my city. I have even seen people sitting out on their covered porches watching the storms not heeding the severe weather warnings. People do not heed the warnings because so many times it has been like the little boy who cried wolf.
It brings to mind what Noah experienced while he was building the ark God told him to build. People mocked him saying it had never rained or flooded. The people would not heed the warning.
Jesus used what happened in the days of Noah to explain what will happen in the days before the 2nd Coming of Jesus in Matthew 24:36-39:
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man”
Jesus will return to earth and everything will change. Nothing can stop his 2nd Coming. When he returns, those who longed for his return will be filled with joy, but those who mocked, disregarded, refused to believe, will be shocked and tragically it will be too late.
Jesus will return. We can prepare by coming to faith in Jesus as our Savior. He did all of the work when he willingly died on the cross for us. Jesus loves us and wants us to be with him for eternity.
