Story Time- I Still Need A Haircut- BUT

Perhaps my hair is getting closer to the point that I could have a Man Bun. I have not had this long since my late teens which was let’s just say- A Long Time Ago.

I wake up in the mornings now and realize I have a new adventure with my hair each morning.

It has not been this long since I was much much younger. I was planning to make an appointment for a haircut until I watched the video for my church about the plans to have corporate worship in the building.

One of the men in the video for our ” family meeting” shared his experience of getting a haircut. He shared that when the person cutting his hair used the blow dryer to blow away hair, hair blew around in his mask, so he was breathing in his own hair.

So what am I to do???? I need a haircut but HEY I have asthma. I do not want to be breathing in my own hair under my mask.

The MAIN thing in this story though is not that I need a haircut. It is that my home church has a wise plan for beginning corporate worship in the building again πŸ™‚

Slowly it seems that things are returning to some semblance of ‘normal’.

The most important thing is, whether online or in person, we need each other. We need fellowship with each other. That is why in Hebrews 10 it says:

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together,Β as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherβ€”and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

We need each other. We need fellowship.

I might need a haircut, but that can wait until I do not have to breathe my own hair. Until then, I can fellowship with my Life Group via Zoom and interact with other Christians online.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. That’s so funny! Good to see you can laugh about it πŸ˜†
Also, that’s exciting! I can’t wait until I can meet in my church building again!

  2. You could do what I do to Andrew’s hair… buzz cut. He never could sit still for a haircut so I gave up years ago and started using the electric razor. His hair grows like a weed.

      1. 😬😬😬 Lol… Andrew always threatened to die his hair blue black. I said no way. With his complexion he’d look like one of the Adam’s family. 😁

  3. I think haircuts are one of the symbols of coronavirus crisis. And the good thing is, a lot of people probably realised they can save some money by sticking to the DIY haircuts – at least my boyfriend says I can keep the job, after the 3 haircuts I gave him he say’s I’m a pro now πŸ˜€

  4. Breathing in hair doesn’t sound enjoyable at all lol. πŸ˜‚ My church opened 2 weeks ago but the pastor advised high risk folks to stay home and continue to watch online for now, so I’m staying home with mom. πŸ€—

      1. Me too, thanks. Lol. She doesn’t cook as much as she used to but when she does it’s good. 😊

  5. Great news about your church making plans to reopen! We have been opened now for 4 weeks. So, about your hair……..eh, I don’t know what you need to do. Sorry.

  6. Oh, no…not the man bun! 😁 We have been open the past several weeks now with appropriate wisdom in place. I think in our favor is the fact our town is so tiny, stuck in the middle of farm country, especially during harvest season. Where it’s murder on my numerous allergies, it does have a lot of benefits in keeping folks spread out to themselves. πŸ™‚ I wish I had good advice about the hair in the mask thing. Sounds absolutely not fun. We are old hats at home haircuts here. With kiddos on the7 autism spectrum, it has long been our practice to do a simple buzzcut to help navigate their sensory issues.

  7. “The” not “The7”. My inner editor is not pleased with me of late. Lots of fumble fingers. 😏

  8. Ahhh love that picture!! Fellowship is so important but those Zoom meetings just aren’t the same as being in person….I’m so thankful to be getting together in person these days❀️

  9. You should probably focus on youth retreats/ministry now that you’ve got that ‘out-of-bed’ lookπŸ§”πŸ¦°πŸ¦±πŸ˜œ

  10. Smiles. Curious to see how the man bun would look like on you though. πŸ™‚
And thank God for the blessing of online fellowship too.
I hope the haircut would come in soon; after the bun try though. 😁
