Palms Sunday- Jesus Rode in Knowing All The Danger

The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna!”

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Blessed is the king of Israel!”

Palms Sunday is here. The day we remember Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey with the people shouting Hosanna and throwing palm branches into the street before him. They were welcoming him in hopes of him being the promised Messiah.

He is the Promised Messiah but they did not understand he would be the suffering servant first. He will return one day to earth as the king of kings.

But Jesus rode into Jerusalem knowing all that was about to happen. He knew some of the people shouting Hosanna would only five days later shout- Crucify Him. Why? Because of his love for us.

Jesus knew the dangers that were ahead of him and yet he rode in anyway. He rode in knowing he would be arrested, tortured, and crucified. He also knew he would defeat death through his resurrection.

This Palms Sunday we are not able to celebrate together in our churches. But we can celebrate him at home. I would like to share Revelation Song by Kari Jobe with you as part of your celebration. This song focuses on how majestic Jesus is.

Please join me in praying for those who are putting themselves in harms way on our behalf during this COVID-19 crisis. Let’s pray for the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers who are caring for the victims of the virus. Let’s pray for the people working in food stores and other places where we buy essential items.

Have a bless Palms Sunday. Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Amen! How true- He knew the dangers ahead and went in willingly for us! What an astounding, beautiful thing that is! And thank you for the song- one of my favorites! ☺

  2. Yes! Jesus rode in knowing all the danger! He knew He was dying for people who would turn from Him. He so desperately loves His creation that He paid the ultimate price to reconcile us to Himself. He knew the cost. He also knew the reward would be His people back in right relationship again. What an amazing Lord we serve!
