This Would Cause Me To Lose My Coffee Purist Credentials

The other day a friend asked me why I was tired. I shared that I have been waking up at 4 or 4:30 without planning to, but take a nap in the afternoon. I don’t see the problem with it because I love naps and I always have coffee in the morning. She is a well intentioned person but a tad misguided I think.

The next day she gave me something I dare not use, an herbal tea called Sweet Dreams.

If you are a tea person, that is okay for you. I do enjoy iced tea in the summer. But an herbal tea called sweet dreams? May it never be, at least for me. Why do you ask? Good question.

My credentials as a coffee purist could be at stake. Me the person who drinks coffee black, no cream or sugar, the person who would never buy a repurposed soda aka frappes etc, me the person who does not wash out his coffee cup, I would risk losing my hard earned status of coffee purist.

So I politely accepted said misguided gift and have placed it where all things get lost, the cupboard in my kitchen. Aforementioned cupboard is rarely used since everything I need is in the fridge.

Rest assured your coffee purist’s status is safely intact. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Barb is right, Matt. Drinking a little Chamomile tea, at night before you to to bed, does not threaten your status as a coffee purist. Bigelow is a great tea brand. Just ask Tina, from Pippi’s Poetry. She is an avid tea drinker.

  2. I drink both. One cup of coffee in the morning after first drinking one 16 oz. bottle of water.

In the afternoon, I drink a cup of tea, which is good for relaxing. Tea is also good as an intoxin.

A cup of Chamomile tea at bedtime is excellent as a natural herb for sleeping – it really works! Try it!

      1. No teapot. You can heat the water in a microwave, that’s what I do. I’ve had teapots but would forget it was on the stove and the water would boil out, burningout the bottom of the pot. So, I use the microwave or my keurig. If you should decide to try tea, I would suggest a new cup for tea only.😄
