Updates on Books and Possible New Look for My Blog

Sitting in my office, aka the coffee shop, this afternoon and writing, there are two books I have finished the first draft for. I woke up this morning not feeling very motivated, but Alicia of forhispurpose.blog messaged me that she had read the first draft of the book I am working on Jesus Understands Trauma. Her positive input motivated me to come to my office, aka coffee shop, and write.

The book I am writing about my journey with Jesus I am thinking about the title- Lifted From The Pit, Called To The Nations. My hope is that Jesus will use the two books to bring people to know him and to edify those who already know him.

After getting them published, my attention will then turn to Christian fiction books that I had started but got sidetracked. To say I am enjoying this summer break from teaching would be an understatement.

Then a thought occurred to me about my blog. I have been using the same theme for years. It is now called a legacy theme. I thought perhaps a new theme would be good, so I called the young woman at my church office, real office not a coffee shop, and asked if she would help me look over the themes. We will meet Friday afternoon.

Just an update.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Ahh good glad that was motivation for you!!
What a blessing that you have the coffee shop environment to write in, sounds like the perfect “perk” to writing!!

      1. We are doing well. I spend most days teaching two littles about sharing, not hitting, being kind, etc.. I guess I have to keep teaching until they get it. Most days, the weather is extremely hot here. I wonder what it’s like for you.

  2. That title from the Pit called to the Nation reminds me of TD Jakes message a few weeks ago. He was talking about the event where Jesus took break, blessed it and broke it and gave it to the disciples and He said, that’s what God does to those he calls, He takes them from the crowd, breaks them and then he blesses them and then he gives them to the nation. He said a person that has been picked by God from the crowd, broken through trials and temptations and blessed by God for the work ahead and given out to the work of God is a powerful person. That moment I shouted loudly in the house AMEN!!!that was powerful. Dad we bless the Lord for picking you from the multitudes in America, passing you through fire and blessings you and giving you to the world. We aren’t ready even👏what God is yet to do through you will be written in our hearts forever🥰

  3. I look forward to reading your books, Matt. Finding time is a challenge for me right now, as I am working on a degree, but I will make time, brother.

My current blog theme is called “2020.” Oops, that sounds a little dated, too. I like how your site looks now, but there may be something even better.
I look forward to your new 👀 look. Man, that’s a lot of looking in one comment! Have a blessed day. Six more days of summer school for me.

  4. Matt, thank you for sharing an update on your writing journey. God continues to use your gifts in blessed ways that bring Him glory. Lastly, keep the hot coffee coming.
