The Lord has blessed me to worship in churches in many different languages whether in another country or here in my home city of Lincoln. Worshiping in another language helps me feel connected to the day Revelation 7 talks about:
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. “
One of my all time favorite worship songs is This Is The Air I Breathe written by Marie Barnett. It has been recorded by several music artists in English, but I like her original version.
I love this song because it reminds me that Jesus is my everything. He provides everything even the air I breathe not only physically, but spiritually as well. Being in his presence gives me strength to go about my day and serve others. On Mondays it helps me to remember that he is my source for everything as I start my week.
I studied Spanish for one year 2010 to 2011. I am not fluent but perhaps at an intermediate level. During that year, I searched for Spanish versions of worship songs I found a Spanish version of This Is The Air I Breathe- Eres Mi Respirar by Ingrid Rosario. I love being able to come into the presence of Jesus while listening in Spanish. 🙂
I was blessed with the opportunity to study a 3rd language for one year 2013 to 2014, Portuguese. During my second trip to Brazil I found videos by Nivea Soares and loved them. Meu Respirar, a Portuguese version of This Is The Air I Breathe is one of my favorites by Nivea Soares. 🙂
Whatever language we worship in, Jesus knows that language. Whatever language we worship in, we come into his presence and are his children. 🙂
