Okay so this is an oldie but very much a GOODY. This song has a special place in my heart because of the time in my life that I listened to it. In July 1991, I had just bought the cassette tape of the album it is on. This song was so meaningful to me during a drive to Minneapolis Minnesota that month to check out a bible college there.
On the drive up from Lincoln where I live, I kept rewinding the tape to listen to this song. For some reason the Lord drew me into his presence each time I listened to this song. I love the first line of the song, “Can you hear creation yearning, longing to worship his name.”
Another lyric from the song, “My heart cries out to be with him” expresses what is so often on my heart. There have been so many times in my life that I just want to be with Jesus. Times that his presence has been so real in prayer, but then he wants me to go out and be with people to serve him by helping others. I enjoy helping others, but leaving his presence is hard sometimes.
Another line in the song expresses so well the attitude we need to have in living for Jesus, “I offer myself up to you for it’s the least I can do for you.” Friends let’s pause life for a moment and reflect on how much Jesus has done for us. The least we can do is offer ourselves up to him in living for him.
My tape of the song is long gone. Things break down over the years. I was so grateful I could find this song on youtube. I hope it blesses you today and helps you to experience the presence of our Lord Jesus.
