Today’s post is a bit different. I want to share a song with you that has been one over the years that I sing when I am alone and prepare to pray. When I sing this song before I pray, it brings me into the presence of the Lord. It is a simple yet powerful song. It is Alleluia sung by Alvin Slaughter in this recording.

Please don’t confuse it with the popular song by Cohen, Hallelujah, that has been covered by numerous artists. That song has nothing to do with Jesus or God. All one has to do is read the lyrics to realize that.

Alleluia is a song that is easy to remember, is powerful to sing, and is wonderful to sing to enter the presence of our Lord. I have experienced it so many times in my life. I can be in the midst of a hectic day and need to come to the Lord and once I begin to sing this song, the day begins to fade away. That is why I want to share it with you dear readers in hopes it blesses you as much as it has me.

Simple lyrics do not mean empty of content or power. The four creatures in the throne room in heaven mentioned in Revelation 4 repeat a simple yet profound chorus of:

“Holy,holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”

I hope this song blesses you and helps you to enter the presence of our Lord. Thanks for reading. God Bless.
