Waking up on another Friday morning means starting slowly. Monday through Thursday my days are split teaching classes in the morning and in the evening with afternoon being time for mt ministry. I am a little extra tired this morning and when I woke up I had the thought that it would nice to have a lazy day.

But it is a good tired. Wednesday and Thursday mornings this week I started my day earlier to be at  school to set up for special days for my students. Rotary Club 14 provided a special Thanksgiving meal for my students and ten Rotary guests joined my students for the meal.

Rotary members also donated items for our annual ‘store’ where the moms can get things for their family free. The ‘store’ was yesterday morning.

When I see my students be blessed, it is a blessing for me. For the specials meals I want them to go through the mini buffet first and I go last. It is their day to feel special. It is their day to be blessed. I know the struggles my student moms face. I know the effort they put into learning English, so they can help their families. So when people like the Rotary Club bless them, it is something I will never forget. I tend to think of it as they blessed my students, so they blessed me.

Jesus views what we do for his people as being done for him. In Matthew 25 he said:

“Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”

Think of how much Jesus invested in us and continue to invest in us. He left his throne in heaven to come to earth with the ultimate goal being to die for us on the cross. He came to pay the penalty for our sins. He took on himself what we deserved.

He is with us every second of every day always caring for us, working in our lives, and loving us. He treasures us, so when someone blesses his followers, he views it as blessing him.

Jesus invested so much in us and continues to invest in us, so let’s invest in others. We love because he first loved us.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
