Last night I had a wonderful evening with a family from Iraq. They came here as refugees many years ago, they are a family I first met the Saturday before Christmas last year.

The husband/father struggles with PTSD and depression due to what happened to him in Iraq, so he sees a psychiatrist. Because of that, they do not have many friends in their own community, so when I arrived to help them move, no one was there to help him.

They have three precious daughters who love drawing pictures. One of them drew a picture for me the last time I visited which I put on my refrigerator door.

I was so encouraged that another couple from church came. My friends Lorri and Scott. Lorri has made a new friend with Zaunab the wife. My friends Kelly and Ty were there. Kelly has been an amazing friend for this family.

Zaunab cooked a wonderfully delicious meal of dishes from her culture. I got stuffed. I am happy she gave some to take home. 😀

I left with my stomach quite full and also my spirit full of appreciation for what Kelly and Ty have done for this family and for the new friendship between Lorri, Scott, Zaunab and Wassam.

It causes me to think of how Jesus would visit people in their homes and his love for those who suffer. In a way Jesus did visit this family last night through my friends and me.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
