It was time. Spring is coming, so I went and got my haircut and my beard trimmed. No more long beard at least for now. It is something to do to prepare for the new season. There are times we need to make some changes to prepare for what is ahead or to adjust along the path we are on,

Living for Jesus in this life involves a lifelong process of adjustments on our part. Sometimes we need to make small changes along the way. Sometimes we need to make big changes. It is a process that can be hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly depending on the situation and how we are doing.

Paul wrote about checking on ourselves in 2 Corinthians 13:

“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”

There is great benefit in examining ourselves spiritually and in making adjustments as needed. Doing so helps us grow and not stagnate in our lives.

Last summer was a time that I took a look at myself to see what changes I could make to help me grow and not stagnate. One of the decisions I came to while praying was to join a small group at church. It felt like a risk because the last time I tried it, the group fell apart. But this time around, I have met many new friends and the fellowship has been wonderful.

I don’t ever want to become stagnate or stuck in my life with Jesus. My hope is to continue to have adventures with Jesus and continue to grow. That is why I love to read books. Reading helps keep me sharp, engages me not only mentally but also spiritually, and keeps me fresh and current.

Connecting with other bloggers is also a blessing. Whether it is reading about their lives or being encouraged by their insights into the bible and walking with Jesus, reading other blogs has helped me stay fresh in my walk with Jesus.

Another thing I look for are new worship songs on youtube. I appreciate the old hymns and older worship songs, but also love new worship songs.

We can either grow, get stuck, or slide backwards. My desire is to grow and learn.

Count me in the number of people who are so ready for spring to come. I made one change in getting a spring haircut and beard trim. 🙂  As I follow Jesus, I hope to continue to make changes spiritually too.

What changes will you make for spring?

Thank you for reading. God Bless. 🙂
