This month is Mental Health Awareness month, so this week I am writing posts about mental health issues. We need to remove the stigma regarding mental health issues and my hope is that in a small part my posts help.

I have not experienced issues with eating disorders myself and do no claim to understand the complexities and issues involved. I do, however, know that Jesus is ready, willing, and able to help people recover from eating disorders.

There are two bloggers I follow that have shared wonderful posts about Jesus helping them overcome eating disorders. Jesus freed them from the despair of their addiction.

Britt shared a beautiful post in her blog recently about how Jesus helped her. The post is The Holy Salad: Thoughts on Dieting. Eating Disorder Recoery, and Following Jesus. Britt’s blog is stillneedgrace.com.

Beauty Beyond Bones is a blogger who shares about how Jesus helped her recover from anorexia. Her blog is an excellent one to check out if eating disorders is a struggle. Perhaps start by reading her Read This First post.

As I said, I do not have experience or expertise with eating disorders, but I do know Jesus has the power and the compassion to help. That is why I wanted to share the two blogs.

I have experienced Jesus helping me with other issues, so I know he can help, wants to help, and will help anyone who seeks him. Jesus said is best himself in Matthew 11:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

    1. Yes she is. They both are 😀

      1. I enjoyed Britt’s article! Inspiring indeed! Christ should be first even in our eating. Another lesson for me.
