I love to travel and experience other cultures. I enjoy being in international airports and people watching as people from numerous countries walk by. But the one aspect of traveling that bothers me is that I cannot sleep in a plane at all.
My second trip to Romania involved a 33 hours trip from my city to Constanta Romania. By the time I got to my host home, it was 1 am Romania time. I went to sleep right away, but the sun rose at 5:30 and woke me up. It was a Sunday morning and I was supposed to speak in the worship service sharing my testimony.
I went to the kitchen to have breakfast with my host family. The mother had made chocolate cake from scratch. It was so delicious.I was so tired and needed to try to wake up. I asked the mother if she had coffee. She gave me a small cup of coffee. When I looked at it, I thought I would need about ten cups or more.
I kept drinking more cups of coffee much to the dismay of the mother. I ended up having six cups and two pieces of cake in maybe 15 minutes.By the time I got to the church, I had a huge caffeine and sugar buzz going. When I started to speak, the translator had to ask me to slow down.
That was my first experience with espresso. I loved it, so each morning while I was there, I would drink it, but only one or two cups not six. 🙂
My time there during that trip was wonderful. I enjoyed teaching classes and meeting new friends. I loved being in the Romania. I also met my new little friend- Espresso.
