I have a list of prayer partners I email for prayer support. Most are from my home church, but I also have some in other countries. 🙂 I thought I would do something a little different and share my latest email to my prayer partners.

“When I was in sixth grade, I played Midget Football. I played as a starting linebacker on the team that won the city championship that year. I was the leading tackler for the first three games because I would see someone with the football and just simply want to get him. It was my passion. Early in the fourth game, I injured my elbow. I missed the rest of the game and the next two. The 7th game would decide the champions and I was determined to play, so I did push ups to prove my elbow was better even though it hurt. I wanted to play in the championship game. I did and led the team in tackles even though I aggravated my injury without telling anyone until after the game. My only thought was- “I was in the game and we were champions.”
If I share about chronic illness or being sick, I do so to glorify God and ask for prayer. My main concern is always being in the game only now it is about reaching out to lost souls with the gospel.
This weekend I have been dealing with bronchitis-AGAIN- but I am so used to it. I went to CVS Minute Care. I knew I would be prescribed 40mgs of Predisone a day for five days and antibiotic. That is what happened.
Saturday morning I woke up after maybe 4 hours of sleep thankful for my good friend coffee. Saturday was wonderful. Haris from Bosnia came for a one to one session to help him with English. Then Isai from Belize, Juan from Colombia, and Sinan from Iraq came to study with me. I had an opportunity to share about why I give them my time because SInan asked. I shared that I want to show them Jesus loves them.
Also on Saturday I confirmed with my new friends from Brazil, Paulo and Luciana, that their teen kids went on the Youth Retreat.
So I had bronchitis, came to church anyway and rejoiced because Jesus gave me the strength to be in the game and with Jesus we are champions.
Sunday morning I woke up after less sleep more thankful for my friend coffee and came to church. My friends from Mexico, Peru and Vietnam joined me in my group. We studied from Exodus where God tells Moses his name- I AM and then looked at John where Jesus says- I AM.
Paulo and Luciana joined me for worship service Sunday.
So I have bronchitis, but I am rejoicing because God gave me the strength to make it through the morning and I was in the game and with Jesus we are champions.
I don’t know why he chose me for this ministry, but I love it. He has blessed me to share his love with people from all over the world.”
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
