Today is Valentine’s Day in the U.S. and many other countries. The focus is on romantic love which is fleeting. People fall in and out of love too easily these days.

I prefer to keep my focus on an eternal love that will never fade away. Jesus said of God in John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son so that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
God loves us so much that he sent his best for his, his son.
Jesus shared his motivation for coming and dying for us in John 15:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.”
Because of his great love for us Jesus laid down his life for us and defeated death for us.

Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love because God has all power.
God wants relationship with us, a father child relationship. God accepts us the way we are inviting us into relationship with him, and through that relationship he helps us grow and change.

A blogger I follow Heather Dawn at everysmallvoice.wordpress.com wrote a beautiful post about that father child relationship. Her post is-My Wise Friend. It is a beautiful post about relationship with God.
It is because of my times with Jesus in the mornings that I can make it through life with chronic illness. It is because of my relationship with God that he has taken me from who I was to having a ministry for people from many countries.
That is love. The love of our heavenly father.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
