Shopping is one of my least favorite activities. For me shopping is in the same category as getting a vaccination or doing laundry. I have always just quickly stopped in for a handful of items almost every day because I am done in less than five minutes. I do so at a small market near my home.

Due to governmental guidelines regarding the COVID-19 Virus of having a two to three week supply of food, I stepped out of my comfort zone of that quiet little market. On Saturday I went to a busy supermarket.

It felt like a first contact with an alien race kind of thing. I discovered this device the beings in the alien place were using. It is called a shopping cart. I used said shopping cart. I found it made navigating the alien terrain more difficult, but made it easier to gather a two week supple of food. Though I am not sure if I did get a two week supply. Time will tell.

Fortunately for us, Jesus meets us where we are in this life. There is no situation that overwhelms him. He has all power and keeps his promises such as his promise to always be with us. He is with us even in places like supermarkets.

As we go through this time of uncertainty, we can count on Jesus to be with us.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I don’t like shopping either. I work in a supermarket though! We’re having to ration people to maximum 3 of each item because they’re stripping many of the shelves bare!

      1. They’ve stopped in Italy because they’ve realised the food shops have stayed open regardless

      2. Shops here are letting at risk people shop first hour they are open and no one else

      3. Yeah we’re starting to do that

  2. Glad you made it out of there in one piece! So you have a 2 week supply of food that you can cook in the microwave on the popcorn setting I am guessing??? lol

I too am thankful that Jesus is not overwhelmed or surprised by life’s events. He is our ever present help in times of trouble.

    1. Yes it is all microwaveable 🙂

      1. That is good news lol.

  3. If you went shopping this past weekend, or the first few days this week, I know exactly what you mean and how crazy it was. But…. your first 2 sentences in this post… I’m sorry, but no! Shopping is fun – just not this time of year. Compared with vaccination or doing laundry!? Holy cow! No! I’m having bloodwork done tomorrow, and I’m dreading it. If I could go shopping for every person on earth so I wouldn’t have to get that needle in me, I would do it a trillion times before I even think of getting bloodwork or a vaccination. That’s just me! 😉

  4. Lol… thanks for making me laugh. I was laughing right from the start. I’m glad Jesus meets us where we are and doesn’t leave us where we are. I know that You’re glad He doesn’t leave you in the supermarket. Lol. 😂

    1. Yes even in the shadow of the valley of death supermarkets 😂

  5. You know, speaking of aliens, using a shopping card with how unwieldy they are is a little like learning to fly a spaceship…

    1. It would be cool to fly a spaceship

  6. 😂😂😂😂you’re a funny one; how did you survive this long on earth? Praying for you

    1. Thank you for praying. BY God’s grace I survive
