Peter blew it. Jesus told Peter that he would before he did. Jesus told Peter that Peter would deny Jesus three times before the rooster crowed. Peter did exactly that and the other disciples knew it.

After his resurrection, Jesus spoke with Peter in front of the other disciples. He asked Peter a question three times. Peter do you love me.
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Through this brief conversation in front of the other disciples, Peter was restored. He had denied Jesus three times and in this encounter professed his love for Jesus three times.
This should give us hope when we fail. Jesus restores, gives us another chance, and never gives up on us.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
