This afternoon was just what I needed. I just came home from spending 4 hours with friends. It was a glimpse into what my summer will look like. It was gloriously simple.
After a morning meeting for planning day, I took the afternoon off. It started by having burgers with a friend from church. He is one of the pastors. He returned from a trip to Brazil a few weeks ago. It was great to hear the plans for a new work that will get started in Recife Brazil to help poor children.
Then I went to a coffee shop, not my usual one. It was in the same strip mall as the restaurant where I had lunch. First I met with a friend from church to share information with him about refugees and how they come here and are helped. He is a Missions Consultant for my denomination and my church is his home church. We talked about the Ukrainians who will be coming here.
We were later joined by another friend from my church who has an outreach for people from the Middle East living in my city. The three of us sat and talked about all kinds of stuff ranging from ministry to current issues.
So a burger and fries and two large coffees later, I came home having enjoyed time with three friends. Just what the doctor ordered, well at least the doctor in my mind who Googles for information to diagnose myself. 🙂
