Yesterday I went to my favorite coffee shop and had a chance to speak with the manager. I shared what I had heard about the building being sold and the plans to tear it down. I offered to introduce her to a friend of mine in commercial real estate if she needed help finding a new location.

She smiled and laughed saying, “so another rumor going around.” She told me the building had not been sold, So much for listening to people.

So apparently my coffee shop is safe for now. Time will tell. I still think it wise to spend time at my alternate coffee shop once a week just to be prepared and also to expand my horizons. 🙂

Hopefully my coffee shop will stay. It is the place where I have written many blog posts, written my books, met many people and had many divine appointments, so there are many fond memories attached to the place.

The whole experience made me think of James 3:5 and what it says about the tongue:

Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

At least I could laugh at myself a bit for falling prey to the gossip. Funny that I do not listen to gossip in the church, but listened to it regarding my beloved coffee shop.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
