Nightbirde, the young woman battling cancer who appeared on America’s Got Talent. shared a poem she wrote titled God is on the bathroom floor. It is about how God was with her during a very low point in her life.

Corrie Ten Boom, who survived a Nazi prison camp, once said, “There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.”

Having experienced many low points in my life, I can say that God is with us in our lowest points. God has shown me he is with me a various ways, through a friend, through a song in my spirit, through unexpected blessings.

Yesterday after my rheumatology appointment, I stopped at my coffee shop. I met a man who has experienced trauma in his life. We chatted for a few minutes. I had a copy of my book Jesus Understands Trauma. I gave it to him after signing it. Our conversation caused me to forget it was doctor day. I was ready to enjoy the free music by the band that played a little later.

Last November when I was in the hospital overnight for a procedure, a surprise one at that, my friend Robb happened to be there to visit a mutual friend and Robb came up to see me and gave me a ride to the pharmacy and a ride home.

So many times Jesus has met me on ‘the bathroom floor’. So many times I have experienced how deep God’s love is during low points in life.

Have you experienced God ‘on the bathroom floor’ with you?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Yes, I’ve met God on the bathroom floor, brother. Yet his grace has always been sufficient. 🙏May we trust and follow Him 24/7.

  2. Matt, this is beautiful. Yes. I’ve been on the bathroom floor many times. One time, near death. I’m so glad God met you there. Just as he met me. What a beautiful relief and comfort that Christ meets us in all places and ways. God bless you brother! Can I find your book on Amazon or do I go to your website? 🙏🏻

    1. Little sister I am glad you know Jesus and have experienced his presence. One day whether in this life or in heaven we can sit down and talk. 🙂

      1. Amen, brother! I will do that. Yes, one day…and coffee with that talk! I’m at oncologist’s office now! Have a great afternoon! 🙏🏻🙂

      2. Thank you, brother! Well, the shots and infusion didn’t work. Platelets slipped to 30 and red and white still dropping. No wonder I feel icky! I’ll go in tomorrow morning for blood transfusion. Weekly blood checks and another bond infusion the week after next. I would’ve done it tonight, but I was alone and my sugar was at 50 and needed to come home to Finley. My mom will go with me tomorrow! Hopefully they’ll get me stronger sooner! Thank God got his strength! 🙏🏻

      3. Thank you, Matt! I am too! For you!
