In February, I shared about a Ukrainian Worship Leader who had to leave his guitar behind. I met him about one week after he arrived in my city. An anonymous donor with a big heart read that post and sent a guitar for him. I shared about it in A Ukrainian Worship Leader Left His Guitar Behind But Has One Now.

Nicolai is my friend from Ukraine. I will always remember that day when he opened to box the guitar was shipped in and saw the guitar. He immediately tuned it and played a song.

The generous person this past week sent some things to go with the guitar, an amp, a microphone, some accessories, and a gift card to a guitar shop. I met Nicolai at my church office Wednesday for him to open the box. He was beaming as he looked at each item.

Nicolai has been working at Catholic Social Services in the warehouse where they receive and distribute donated items. He is also taking English classes, taking care of his wife and three year old daughter, and helping with worship at the Ukrainian Church here.

The amp and mic will be great for him to have especially as he joins my friend Alexey to go to some smaller cities in my state where some Ukrainian refugees have been relocated. Alexey and Nicolai will provide worship services for them.

Seeing others be blessed is a blessing. It was a good day for me to watch Nicolai as he opened the box and discovered what was inside. It is a blessing to see Jesus work through his people.

Thank you for reading. God Bless,

    1. It was a blessing to be involved

  3. Nicolai got his heart’s desire to better serve as a worship leader. The one sending the blessing will get the reward of knowing that a huge difference was made. Only someone that loves to worship the Lord, would know this was the heartfelt desire. Music and especially worship music speaks to the heart.

Blessings Matt as you continue to work with refugees!
