Yesterday was just kind of a blah day until I went to the coffee shop. Nothing bad was happening. I was just having a low energy day which is nothing new for someone living with chronic illnesses. But one visit to the coffee shop turned things around. 🙂

At the coffee shop, it was a blessing to make two connections with two baristas.
The first connection was discovering one of the baristas’ parents are from Brazil. When I found out, I started speaking Portuguese with her. We chatted about various foods from Brazil, where I had visited there, and which cities her parents are from. She is a fun young person to interact with. Each time I tell her a joke, she rates my joke on a scale from 1 to 10.
The second connection was when one of the baristas mentioned she had been on missions trips. I asked her which church she goes to and found out she goes to the Catholic Church on the university campus. I shared with her that I had written my book Jesus Understands Trauma. She was interested, so I signed a copy and gave it to her.

God created us to be social beings. We are designed to have relationships with God and others. So when we get out of ourselves and interact with others, God goes to work.
This morning it will be my blessing to meet a new married couple from Brazil, They are new to my city. They will come to my Sunday morning group with my friends Diego and Camila from Brazil. Then it will be time for a return visit to the coffee shop.
How is your weekend?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
