Sunday after church, I had the blessing of having lunch with a young man from my church. His mother bought my book Jesus Understands Trauma for him to read. We had a wonderful conversation over burgers. At one point I shared with him that he shares something in common with Jesus. He looked a bit confused. Then I shared that after Jesus was 12 in his earthly life, there is no mention of his earthly step father Joseph, so we can conclude that Joseph had died sometime after Jesus was 12. When my young friend from church was 5, his dad died of cancer. So what my young friend has in common with Jesus is experiencing the death of a father in this life.

I signed my book for him and we had a great two hour conversation.
Tangie of Mrs. T’s Corner at tangietwoods.blog gave me a wonderful review on Amazon of my book Jesus Understands Trauma. She wrote:
“I love everything about Matt’s book. The author’s shares his life, struggles, help and his love for God. His willingness to share such personal information provides hope and encouragement to survive and thrive in his faith and encourage and uplift others. Sometimes, when Christians endure as much as Matt has and is still dealing with, they walk away from the Lord’s Body a moment before He was to intervene on their behalf. Matt remains steadfast knowing who the Source of his life is and this is what we must do. Many stories and encouragement are offered to us on his WordPress blog. The added bonus for this book is the author backed up his faith and position in the Lord with Scriptures telling us that Jesus Understands Trauma. I pray this book becomes an Amazon Bestseller sooner than later.”
I am committed to donate from my books to ministries/organizations that help people who have experienced trauma. For the first few months, the ministry has been Royal Family Kids Camp also known as For The Children. Yesterday I donated to For The Children’s national office. Our local Royal Family Kid s Camp just completed their camp for the year.

For August, the organization I am donating to is I’ve Got A Name.. I’ve Got A Name works to free teens and young women from sex trafficking in my state and also works to prevent teens and young women from falling prey to traffickers. It feels fitting to donate to I’ve Got A Name in August because it is Back To School this month where I live and traffickers try to prey on teen girls.

My prayer for both of my books, Jesus Understands Trauma and Lifted Out Of The Pit/Called To The Nations, is for Jesus to work through them to set the captives free and draw them to himself for healing for their souls.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
