Yesterday evening was a fun evening of fellowship and food with some of my friends from El Salvador, We ate pupusas, talked, laughed, and it gave me an opportunity to practice my Spanish.

Our hosts were two of my students, The husband was my student a few years ago and the wife is my student now. They have a daughter who is five years old. She will start Kindergarten in a few weeks. She was fun to talk with. It was so fun to see her reactions as I would ask her questions like if she liked ice cream on her pizza. I reminded her that Jesus loves her and that she is precious to Jesus. At one point in the evening, she gently touched my left hand that I was wearing a brace on and asked me if it hurt.
As I interacted with her, the thought kept coming to me of how could anyone harm a child this age and yet there are evil people who do harm children. Today I will be at a conference about sex trafficking hosted by I’ve Got A Name which is an organization that works to free teens and young women from trafficking and also prevent teens and young women from falling victim to traffickers.
I’ve Got A Name is the organization I will be donating to from sales of my books Jesus Understands Trauma and Lifted Out Of The Pit/Called To The Nations for the months of August and September.
The conference is all day so no Saturday nap or hangout at the coffee shop, but it will be so worth it. 🙂
What are you Saturday plans?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
