It is truly a beautiful thing to watch how God fits things together. A week ago, I met a quiet shy teen girl from Brazil and her family. The Sunday I met her, her favorite teacher at her Middle School, who goes to my church, sang the song What A Beautiful Name during worship. I showed Luisa, the teen girl, the video of the teacher singing.

This past Sunday Luisa came with her father to my Sunday group and then they both joined me for worship service. After my group, she met the pastor who oversees our Middle School ministry. He has traveled to Brazil on a missions trip in the past.

After worship service, Luisa, her father and I talked with the pastor and his wife. The pastor has visited Brazil and the pastor’s wife had just returned from a trip to Brazil a few days earlier.

There are many reasons Jesus has my church involved in Brazil and he has fit many pieces together to reach many people. It was wonderful to see how he did so for a shy teen girl to gently let her know that he is with her.

It is such a privilege to be a part of Jesus working in the lives of people. Witnessing how he reaches people is an awesome blessing.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Brother, this is beautiful. The music “What a beautiful name” IT IS…Nothing compares to this, what a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus!” Jesus, you brought heaven down and reached this precious girl. Praise God! Thank you, Matt, for sharing! Blessings, Karla

    1. What A Beautiful Name is one of my all time favorites

        Praying for you

      4. Thank you, Matt. I feel them, brother! Just as I pray for you! I’m sorry I’m hit and miss here. I just returned from a trip west. I’ve got a couple of weeks to prepare for my trip to Maryland–pre-surgery tests, admitted on Halloween, and then surgery Nov. 1st. I’ll try and write one more post before I go “quiet” for a while! Your book is one I’m going to read while I heal, brother! God bless you!

      5. I understand hit and miss little sister. Is your surgery bone marrow?

      6. Thank you, brother! The surgeon will remove the mass on my pancreas by removing the tail, the spleen, the lymph nodes, and he’ll remove the 8 large ones off my liver. They can’t help my bone cancer (I’ll keep doing radiation for pain here in my town). If it weren’t for God I wouldn’t have found them and they me! I just returned from a study at the hospital this morning. My bone marrow took quite a hit from all the chemo and radiation the last 17 months SO they’ll have to boost me. Insurance won’t approve infusions right now. I fly out on Oct. 25th (Bethesda, Maryland), admitted on Halloween (nothing is scarier than removing tumors….do they know what a BIG GOD we serve? :-), and surgery on Nov. 1st. I’ll be out of commission for a while to heal. It’s all surreal; and heavenly, Matt! I pray for you as you for me. I can’t wait to share my testimony of healing. That’s what’s so wonderful—no matter what, God has us! Please take care, brother! If you talk to Gary before me, will you fill him in? I pray for him and his family daily. I’ll try to post one more time before surgery and then once to update everyone before I go to healing mode (with your book too!). Many blessings, brother!

      7. I shared with Gary little sister

      8. Do you want me to share in my blog to ask for prayer?

      9. Brother, that’s an honor. Yes, I accept this blessing of prayer from you. Thank you so much.

      10. I shared the prayer request in my post today

      11. Thank you so much, brother. It means so much to me. 🙏🏻 I’ve been up since 3:45 am. I know we are to not have fear. But it’s the ins and outs of travel and specifics, coupled with it, that May tried to sneak into my thoughts. I’m so thankful to God and friends such as you, Tangie, Gary, Kathy,….and so many more that we can lift one another in truth!

      12. Prayed for you little sister

  2. Ahh I love how God connected and orchestrated all of this together!!

    1. It was fun to be a part of

  3. Sometimes it’s the people with the quietest voice in the room that may need reaching out to the most. I remember being shy when I first joined church. I felt so happy when someone came up to me after the service and started a conversation or agreed to pray for me. I’m happy she was able to find that too.

    1. I am glad you had that experience little sister 🙂

  4. Blessings Matt for sharing the daily witness of Jesus in our faith journey. Our Lord removes boundaries and opens salvation’s gate for all to enter upon accepting Him as Savior.
