The Sunken Garden is a park that is all flower garden in my city. There are flowers of all kinds with a beautiful array of colors. People even have weddings there.

I thought I would take a few pictures of the Sunken Garden. While I was there, I thought of my fellow bloggers Garden Faith and Pics and Posts because they like to share posts with pictures of flowers.

The diversity of flowers and colors show the artistry of God to have created them so they bring beauty to our world.

When I think about the beauty of the variety of flowers, I think about what I share with my students from diverse cultures at times. I ask them if all the flowers look the same and they reply no. Then I ask if all the flowers are beautiful and they answer yes. Then I ask if all people look the same and they understand what I am asking.

It is a message I share from time to time with special concern for the young women who have been in my weekend groups over the years. Some have been Asian. Some have been Hispanic. Some have been African. I do not want them comparing themselves to the models they see in magazines or on Instagram.

The Sunken Garden will eventually wilt away after the first fall freezes come, but it will be planted again next year. I wanted to share a few pictures of it before it is gone for the year.

By the way, I have no idea what the names of any of the flowers in the pictures are. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

    1. You’re welcome. How is your semester of teaching going?

      1. No teaching for me this semester–just amped up administrative responsibilities.

      2. Do you prefer teaching or adminstrative?

      3. Hmmm…depends on the day I’m asked. 😀 I enjoy both immensely, but I definitely miss the regular in-class interaction with students.
