I renewed my car registration Wednesday afternoon, which included new license plates. After receiving the new license plates, a thought occurred to me. Where I live, license plates begin three letters. That is the case for the two biggest cities in my state. All other locations the plates begin with numbers.
My old license plates began with a Y. My new ones begin with an A. The thought that occurred to me is that is kind of like receiving a promotion. I haven’t had a promotion in many years, so I will take it. 🙂
One day in the future all who believe in Jesus will receive the best promotion possible. 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17 talks about it.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
What a glorious promotion that will be to go from this life to heaven in an instant with glorified bodies. I look forward to having a body that cannot get sick, experience pain anymore.
We can all be ready for that day by placing our faith in Jesus as our Savior.
