Every time I visit my friend Alekseyi’s home, his children want to greet me outside. His youngest child, Samuel, is six years old. He is an energetic and sweet boy. Two things come to mind when I think of Samuel. The first is that though I am glad he is excited to see me, each time I need to tell him not to come out into the street. He doesn’t stop to think about the dangers of possible cars coming. He just wants to run to be the first to greet me.

The other thing that comes to mind is what I tell him every time he hugs me. I tell him, “Jesus loves you.” He then says to himself, “Jesus loves me.”
Both things I tell him each time, “don’t come into the street” and “Jesus loves you are from my heart for him. I love him and want him to be safe and to know Jesus.
I think of how God is with us. There are things God tells us not to do. Some might think of that as being mean, but God knows the potential danger we can come into. God telling us not do things is an act of love by God who wants us to be safe. However, we need to make sure it is God telling us and not a tradition of men.
God tells us he loves us though out the bible. God showed his love for us when Jesus came and died for us as Romans 5:8 says:
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus stretched out his arms, his hands, that created the universe and all we see, and by dying for us said, “I love you this much.”
Dear reader may we all run to Jesus just as Samuel runs to greet me. Let us pay attention to what God tells us most of all that he loves us.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
