God’s timing often differs from my timing even when it comes to the time I should wake up. I went to sleep Saturday night about 11pm but at 4am woke up with a worship song loudly in my spirit. So I prayed for some people while laying in bed wishing I could sleep some more. Then I got up to write some more. I finally went back to sleep at 6:30 and slept one more hour.

I wish I could sound super spiritual about it, but many times I am reluctant at such hours to respond wishing instead to just sleep. But God knows something else too. I can often take a nap in the afternoon if need be.

God’s timing is not always convenient but there is perfection to his timing. I wish Jesus would return now because then I would have a resurrected glorified body with no more pain, but as Peter wrote in 2nd Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

So many times in my life God has come through in what seems like the last minute to me. But as Jesus said of prayer in Matthew 6:8

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

God knows what we need and the best time for it to come through for us.

God loves us and we can trust him to know the best time for anything even if we begrudgingly respond like I do at 4am sometimes.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

I’m doing well, thank you! My baby just got over a little bug so I’m very grateful to the Lord 🙏 I hope you have a wonderful day.

  3. I have nights like that too sometimes. Thank you for the reminder that God knows best and His timing is perfect.

    1. His timing is perfect indeed 🙂

  4. I share the same story. Father awakes me in the wee hours of the night to talk with Him or to pray for someone.

It’s a true blessing that Father God loves us enough to want to spend time with us. AWESOME!

    1. It is a blessing. Jesus loves you little sister

      1. Thank you! The same truth to you!

  5. “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise” “but instead he is patient with you” this enlightens my soul, as I think of the Love God has for us, even in our weariness He is patient, and He is kind, and He is understanding-knowing our hearts, when we don’t even know them ourselves. Have a blessed night Matt!

    1. Thank you little sister. It was a blessed night. Have a blessed day today 🙂

  6. Sometimes is 3…other times 4am. For me lately, it’s been 5am. Let’s just call it prayer time😂

    1. Yes prayer time 🙂 🙂 🙂
At least most days I can take a nap if needed lol

  7. Amen. As our faith matures, our trust in God’s divine plan grows. His timing is always part of His light for each of us. I can relate to waking up earlier than normal with a writing theme ready to bust out.

    1. Early morning is not my preferred time lol
