Worship music has been such a great blessing for me over the years. It seems like a new song came many times that connected with my situation at the time. It began with First Call’s Lord of All, the song I listened to as I rededicated my life to Jesus 34 years ago.

Then there was First Call’s Sacred Journey that came as I left my sales career selling office furniture to go study for ministry in Minneapolis Minnesota.

While I was going through my first battle with autoimmune and it looked like I was dying, Michael Card’s Immanuel helped me to feel the presence of Jesus in the midst of pain and sickness.

Currently two songs I listen to every day are Come Alive by Lauren Daigle and My Prayer For You by Alisa Turner. Come Alive is the first song I listen to in the morning as I spend time with Jesus. My Prayer For You is a song I listen to multiple times a day as I drive in my car.

Worship music helps me to stay in the presence of Jesus. There have been so many times that a song is in my spirit and through that Jesus guides me, lets me know he is with me, and lifts me up.

Worship music has been such a huge blessing for me, which is why each week I share Music Mondays. What are some of your favorite worship songs?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I am so thankful for worship music too. Some of my favourites recently have been Goodness of God, Lion of Judah and a thousand hallelujahs.

  2. I’m thankful for worship music too! I love that you have a routine with certain songs and also can remember what songs made an impact during certain seasons of your life. I have so many songs I love, it’s hard to name them all. Alive and Breathing by Matt Maher, Joy in the Morning by Tauren Wells, In Jesus Name by Katy Nichole, Nobody Loves Me Like You by Chris Tomlin. Those are just a few. God bless all the artists who put songs together to bring us joy and bring God glory each day 🙌

    1. In Jesus Name is one I love too

  3. I will probably never get away from “As The Deer”
It’s a heart cry…I have watched deer from my canoe drink at the lake. So symbolic, so sacred a thirst.

    1. Wonderful mental image to go along with the song and maybe a great future post for you?

      1. Possibly, but I would love to capture that image with a camera. I have tried many times as an opportunist but not as far as taking the time for an intentional picture.

      2. Your photography is artistic.

I switched from secular music to worship music when I noticed the lyrics in secular music were influencing me: to be selfish and prideful. I’ve been listening to Able by Ryan Stevenson and also Colton Dixon because his music is so pop!

    1. Worship music makes a difference for me too. Secular music I need to be careful if there are depressing lyrics

  5. Like you I love Lauren Daigle’s music. I also love Hillsong worship music

    1. I love Hillsong music too
