Here I am sitting in the room where my Sunday morning group meets, but sitting all alone.

Why?

Good question. I am glad you asked. My friends are working overtime these weeks because they will have Christmas week off. One example is my friend Carmen from Venezuela. She was a judge in Venezuela, but fled with her then 13 year old son and came to America because her life was in danger. She works at a Kawasaki plant here in Lincoln and has been working six days a week long hours each day because Christmas week, they have shutdown and everyone goes on vacation at the same time.

Similar stories could be shared about my other Sunday morning friends. But I still come just in case one of them shows up. I know that after the holidays, things will return to normal on Sunday mornings unless there is snow of course. Just a little snow scares them away. 🙂

This afternoon it will be time with my Ukrainian friends. My message will be from Hebrews chapter 1 about the fullness of time. Alekseyi will preach about the Fruit of the Spirit.

I love going to the new Ukrainian church on Sunday afternoons. They have a name for it now-New Breath. They have become like family for me. Sunday afternoons used to be power nap time for me, but I am glad they have become about ministry. I can do a power nap on Monday afternoon.

How is your Sunday?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Dear brother Matt, it’s been a long and difficult 6 weeks. I want to thank you for your prayers. I love hearing about your continued work in the Lord, the amazing stories of your friends who are working so hard and escaped such horrible conditions, and how exciting about the Ukrainian church and your message. You’re an inspiration to me, my friend. My healing has been slow. The surgeon removed way more than expected. I thank you again for the prayers and support. Many blessings brother, Karla

    1. I am glad to hear from you little sister. You have been through a rough time and my prayers are with you. Praying you have recovered enough from your surgery to enjoy Christmas with family.

      1. Thank you, Matt. You, Tangie, Gary,…this family means so much to me. Your prayers and YOUR journey have given me inspiration ~you should know that! I think each day I’ll get stronger. I’m surrendering my fears to God. He has us! God bless you, brother. Have a glorious season of worshipping our Savior!

      2. Little sister I rejoice you are back to blogging and even more so that you made it through the surgery. Prayers for healing

That is wonderful that you show up, just in case. It shows you really care! And it’s sad to hear that. They must really need the money to need to make up for it with so many hours. God bless them. Our Sunday is going well. Watching church on the TV because our LO stayed up all night.

    1. Your little on is providing you future fond memories 🙂
