Living for and serving Jesus is an adventure that unfolds as we journey with Jesus. This past year was a classic example of that for me following the lead of Jesus and being blessed to meet new friends along the way. I can see how the truth of Ephesians 2:10 continued to play out this past year.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

For my weekend groups at my church, we were blessed to have Brazilian friends join us for my Sunday morning group and also join me in worship service after group. They also joined me for lunch several times after church and invited me to their homes for special occasions.

My Hispanic friends from El Salvador, Guatemala and Venezuela continued to be part of my weekend groups at church as well. On Easter Sunday morning the teenage son of my friend from Venezuela came to know Jesus as his Savior which was such a wonderful blessing.

It has been exciting to be part of a new Ukrainian church, New Breath, and to see God at work in the new church. We have seen three people come to know Jesus in the first four months in the life of New Breath Church. Thanks to generous brothers and sisters in Christ we were able to bless families with gift cards. In August, we went to another city and provided a special worship service for Ukrainians living there.

Thanks to generous brothers and sisters in Christ, I was also able to take a group of over 20 Ukrainians, adults and their children, to enjoy a special day at our children’s zoo here in Lincoln.

The coffee shop continued to be a place where divine appointments took place. One never knows when a divine appointment can happen, so best to be ready. 🙂

A few connections at church were made that perhaps will lead to future ministry with my church. The counseling pastor took interest in my book Jesus Understands Trauma after a woman who read it had an appointment with him. The new director for creative ministry and I met to discuss making videos out of short stories I have written.

2023 was a year of wonderful surprise for me blessings in ministry, but they were no surprise for Jesus. He connected the dots all along the way.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
