Today is Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Human trafficking is an evil in today’s world affecting mostly women, teens, and children.

The movie Sound of Freedom helped bring more awareness to the trafficking of children this past summer and it is encouraging to see it is on Amazon Prime. I love the line from the movie, “God’s children are not for sale.” Jesus takes harming children very seriously. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus said:

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

Most of us cannot directly help in efforts such as Underground Railroad and physically go out to rescue the victims, but we can pray for such efforts and donate to them.

Love Justice is an organization that fights human trafficking in various countries and also has group homes for children who cannot return home along with a school for them. I know I had written I would donate to Christian Heritage Homes this month from proceeds from my books, but due to Human Trafficking Awareness Month and Day in January, I changed that to Love Justice and will donate to Christian Heritage next month.

We can also pressure elected officials to enact stronger laws against human trafficking and in the USA, to close our southern border. With thousands pouring in each week through the border, it includes children being trafficked.

Human trafficking is evil and for evil to flourish it needs good people to stay silent.
