We are in the midst of a heat wave here in Nebraska. The temperatures will be in the 50s most of the week, 10c, and the snow is melting away. However, it is February as of today and we still have more winter season to come. My students hope that summer weather is coming soon. I always just smile and laugh a little then remind them this is Nebraska and things can change suddenly back to winter weather this time of year.

Speaking of changes, with all of the crazy things happening these days throughout the world, I am grateful that Jesus doesn’t change and that he is constantly with us. I am also grateful that I live in a boring farm state no one really pays attention to and hope it stays that way.

A hopefully fun change for me is that I will start trying to learn Ukrainian and Russian. I spend so much time with friends who speak those languages, so I feel it is time to learn more than saying thank you, good morning, good afternoon, in their languages.

I might have two books published this month. For sure my book Encounters with the Ancients will be ready. I just need the cover design.. The other one is a secret for now. 🙂

How do you feel about the crazy changes happening in the world? How do you respond to them?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I am with you on this – Thankful for a father who remains unchanging. 🙌🏼🙂

Congrats and kudos on the upcoming books. 👍🏻

And it’s so cool that you get to learn their languages too. I am picturing the surprise on their faces when you speak more sentences to them. 🤩

    1. Thank you little sister 🙂
One thing that is fun is to learn how to ask why in different languages so can ask why when they are talking. Then they wonder if I knew what they were talking about 🙂

      1. You are welcome, big bro. 🤗

        Haha. 😂
That’s pulling a fast one on them. 😅

A great and lovely Saturday to you. 🤗

  2. Congratulations on the upcoming books, the weather has been warm here as well. Been a blessing as I been preparing for my move, and I pray for God’s Will to be done throughout the changes in the world. As I pray for the changes He is doing in my life. May God lead you in learning the languages. Blessed day.

    1. Moving is such an undertaking

  3. How exciting! I wish I handled change with more grace and trust in God; I’m working on giving the anxiety to Him.

    1. He invites us to give him our anxiety

  4. Leaning a new language is so exciting but learning two is a grand way to go

    1. I am looking forward to it 🙂

  5. Are you using an app to learn the language? My friend is learning French, I think..on a free one.

  6. Matt, catching up to you is always a rewarding experience. Your reflections about the contrast between mankind’s journey filled with change to Christ’s never-ending consistency is refreshing. For me, spending time with God’s Word in study and writing channels my thoughts away from the noise.

    1. God’s Word and writing does the same for me too Richard.
