I have been shopping online even for groceries since my first knee surgery unless a friend can take me to the market. I like shopping online anyway because I do not have to go to a place called supermarket that is too crowded and can be cause anxiety. 🙂

The other day I ordered oatmeal in my purchase. It looked right to me, but when my delivery came and I put the groceries away. I realized I ordered the wrong size. Perhaps a closer inspection before ordering would have helped. But in my defense, I did the ordering unsupervised, so one could expect a mistake or two. 🙂

In our times, there are so many teachings that appear to be from God, that seem true or sound good because we like the message, but it is so important to take time to make sure what is being taught to us is scriptural. Acts 17:11 says of the people of Berea:

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

They took the time to verify what Paul was telling them by searching the Scriptures.

Dear reader, let’s be like the Bereans and not like me shopping online. Let’s take care to make sure what is being proclaimed is true, so we do not end up with the wrong size.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Like- Be like the Bereans

  2. Matt, this is wonderful wisdom, big brother! The wrong size–and the wrong message! Amen! I do pray daily for you and your recovery. Like you, I’ve been on-line shopping for two years. It’s been helpful as I don’t like to go into the stores, either. Sometimes, I’ll now go in for a few things and do OK. The produce “pickers” may not be as picky as me. Hmmm…picking the right fruit—displaying the right fruit! You’re a great shopper, Matt! And what you produce is glory to our God!

    1. Produce is the one thing I like to buy in person. I like organic produce it tastes so much better.

Thank you for praying little sister. You are in my prayers as well

      1. Yes! I “order” the organic, too. And I love going to my local farmer’s market–that’s where I prefer for produce. I’m growing cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce in hydroponics-we’ll see how they do!
I appreciate your prayers so much, brother.

  3. Amen, to what Karla said, brother! I bet you’re still a better shopper than a cook.😀

    1. Cooking is a mystery to me whereas shopping mistakes happen sometimes lol

  4. Amen. Praising the Lord for sharing His encouraging voice of patience.
