June has been a month of adventures for me in the past. My first trip to Romania was in June 1997. I had an awesome time in Brazil in June/July 2015. In all, 7 of my ministry trips were in June so far. There have been other adventures such as new ministry ventures in my city in Junes of the past.

But this June looks to be a bit dull to me. The biggest thing for me would be being able to drive again or sleeping in my bed not a recliner. Such is the plight of someone recovering from two surgeries on the same knee.

However, my spirits are up compared to March through most of May. Perhaps I will return to working on a book I started before the surgeries.

Yesterday I sat in my car to see if I could handle switching between gas and brake pedals. I am safe writing about that here because none of my readers know my doctor’s name. Driving at this time would be an adventure. But I will wait one more week, I think.

Still the thought of getting on a plane bound for another country to spend a month or so in ministry in another culture lingers in my mind. For me, there is nothing that compares to international travel. Oh well, maybe next year.

Until then, I will see what Jesus has in store for me.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. You’ll be dancing (eh driving) again soon!

    1. For the sake of those around me, it is better I drive so I don’t step on toes lol

  2. Peace be with you, brother.

  3. Healing is an adventure in its own category, not nearly as fun but necessary.

    1. It is necessary true and an adventure I hope not to be on again anytime soon 🙂

      1. Some adventures need to remain a one-time event. 🙂

  4. Take time to heal, and I am sure that the Lord has something exciting for you this season. You are always willing and ready, and that is what the Lord wants. June for us is the beginning of the hurricane season. Pray for us as I continue to pray for you.

  5. Sometimes, June means rest. Excitement and adventure will come!

    1. Rest is good. Hope adventures await me 🙂

  6. Blessings Matt. It is wonderful that your recovery, healing, and rehabbing are gaining momentum. Two of our grandchildren (brother and sister) joined other youth and adults from their church for a weeklong mission trip to the Dominican Republic. God’s grace flows outward through the hands and feet of another disciple.

    1. A wonderful experience for you grandchildren
