It has been four months since my first surgery and two months since my second one. Before my first surgery, I thought it would be a month of recovery and then back to normal. So when my surgeon told me yesterday I could begin to wean myself off of wearing the brace on my leg, I had mixed reactions.

I was glad to finally get the green light to start slowly working toward not using a leg brace. It is a sign of progress. But compared to where I want to be, it is also disappointing. Six more weeks of physical therapy are ahead of me.
But six weeks means end of August, so maybe I can go to Mexico in October after all. If not October, then next year for sure.
My classes at the college start up again this week, so tomorrow I will walk around with a cane, not a walker. Hopefully by the time this quarter ends in September a cane will no longer be needed. It will be good to back in the classroom.
I am grateful for the help that has been given to me, the donations I have received, the rides, that my ministry has kept going, for my understanding Director at the college making accommodations for me. and much more. God has been good to me through this long road.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
