Yesterday I shared about the derecho storm that blew through my city causing me and 30,000 other people to lose power. An interesting thing happened in the early hours of the morning, I think about 2am.

Before the storm came, I had put a few potatoes in the oven to have baked potatoes before my Zoom class. After losing power, my friend took me to a store to buy some food that would not need to be cooked.

I came back home and saw my lights were on, so the power was back on. I sat down and got online to write my blog post. Then I watched some videos on YouTube until I went to sleep.
Around 2am, I woke up and smelled something but wasn’t sure what it was. As I walked past the stove, I realized it was hot. I turned it off and then it hit me. I forgot the potatoes. Fortunately there was no smoke, but they were WAY overcooked. The poor potatoes.
In my defense, there was no one around to remind me that I had put the potatoes in the oven, so I am sure it is completely understandable that I forgot.
Fortunately for those of us who know Jesus as our Savior, God does not forget the things we do to show our love for him. Hebrews 6:10 says.
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
God remembers and will reward us. We can live for him and be encouraged that he treasures everything we do to show our love for him.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
