When those moments of concern hit us, when those seasons of struggle have been so stressful, we do not experience them alone.

Last Sunday my pastor shared from Matthew 6:33-34

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Today’s verse of the day on biblegateway.com is from Luke 12

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

So perhaps God is trying to get my attention. It has been more stressful these past five months of surgeries, physical therapy that seems to go on and on, medical bills, and more. I am thankful for how God has helped me through his people. Still there is stress.

So this morning because of this theme of the week about what Jesus said about worry, I followed what Peter wrote. God invites us to give him our anxiety our worries in 1st Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

We should note that God does not chide or demean us for having anxiety. He reassures us of his love and invites us to come to him. How awesome is that?

By the way, the picture of me is not of me worrying about eating food I cooked. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I’ve had a lot of anxiety recently as well, as my family has been dealing with numerous trials. So I thank you for this post and the reminder to cast out cares on the Lord. I’m so grateful that Jesus is there, every moment. I’m praying for you, big brother 🙏

    1. Jesus is always with you little sister.
Prayed for you and your family

  2. A much needed reminder to cast our cares on the Lord. I tend to worry and using that tendency as tool to keep taking me to God is the only way to not succumb to those pressures.

    1. Amen. Let our struggles lead us to pray to God

  3. Matt, a god reminder to give my problems to the Lord and leave them there. Not going back and picking up the problems again. We all have difficulties but it works much better to leave them with the Lord. Most things I worry about never happen. God is faithful and cares for us. Physical therapy can take time but is so worth the effort.

    1. The leaving it with in the Lord’s hands can be the difficult part for me at times

  4. Great reminders that God is wanting us to bring our worries and concerns to Him!! I’m so thankful His word brings such comfort through stress, sadness, worry, etc!!! Whatever we’re dealing with, He can handle it and wants us to lean on Him!

    1. His shoulders are eternal so no burden is too big for him to carry for us 🙂

  5. Anxiety is a struggle and I even deal with it at times. Although I at times I am anxious about the things I can’t control. The passage at Matthew 6:34 has been comforting and reminding me that…not to be an ious because the next day will have its own troubles. Each day has enough of its own troubles.
