Revelation 21:3-4 – And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
As someone who has lived with chronic illness/chronic pain for over thirty years the thought that in eternity with Jesus there will be no more pain or illness appeals to me.
As someone who endured growing up with an alcoholic father and mentally ill mother, and has written a book Jesus Understands Trauma, the thought that there will be no more mourning or crying or pain appeals to me.
Realizing there will be no doctors’ appointments, surgeries, testing etc., is very appealing to me. We won’t need dentist appointments either. There won’t be a need for any counseling.
God’s dwelling place will be physically among us and we will be his people forever safe in his presence. That is our great future hope to be with Jesus forever.
