It is hard to believe October is here already especially when it the temperatures feel more like early September, but here we are. It is October.

October 1989 was a memorable one for me perhaps the most memorable. One evening I came home after watching a Billy Graham film at church and as I walked in the door, I felt the presence of Jesus so strong that I began to pray. As I prayed, I kept seeing images of lost people who had no hope. It was the beginning of Jesus calling me to the ministry he has blessed me with.
For me, that will always be what October is about-remembering that evening in 1989. It is not about pumpkins, Halloween, pumpkin spiced lattes or as I call it repurposed soda. 🙂
It will be interesting to see the reaction of some of my refugee/immigrant friends when they see the fall colors for the first time later this month. Fall colors are beautiful to see even though short lived.
October is here, but sweater weather is not here quite yet. However, October will always be special to me because of that October evening in 1989.
Do you have a favorite October memory?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
