Cooler fall weather finally arrived this week, which means when I teach Zoom classes today, I will be wearing sweat pants and a nice shirt because they only see me from the shoulders up. Fall is my favorite time of year with the cooler weather and the fall colors on the trees.

One thing I love too is those spontaneous moments God works through. Sunday I saw my friend Jim. He grew up in Congo because his parents were missionaries there. He served as a pastor in France for thirty some years. Jim was in town for a conference my church hosted.

He asked me what I was doing for lunch, so I invited him to join me and my Hispanic friends to eat pupusas. We had lunch at a small El Salvadoran restaurant here. After lunch, Jim came to New Breath Church, the Ukrainian church, with me.

Pastor Alekseyi met Jim and asked him to preach. So Jim shared a good message with my friends at New Breath. My friends felt blessed.

Sunday morning when I woke up and got ready for church, I had no idea the lunch or my friend preaching at New Breath would happen. Sunday was one of those days that God had a few pleasant surprises waiting.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Glad you had a nice Sunday with friends ☀️

    1. Thank you little sister. How was your week?

      1. Sort of stressful but the weekend gives me time to rest. Hope your week was good.

  2. Nice Surprises 🎁🎁

    1. They were indeed. How are you little sister?

      1. I am great Matt! And you, Sir?

    1. Life’s adventures with Jesus 🙂

  3. I love God’s spontaneity! What a wonderful day, brother. I miss you and pray for you. Many blessings! 🙏🏻🍂🍂 it’s cooler here, too. I’ll be headed out to see my son and family in Texas for a while~but will be glad to get back to fall season.

    1. Miss you too little sister. Have a blessed time with your son and family. Jesus loves you little sister 🙂

      1. Thank you, big brother. I appreciate you so much. I’m going to enjoy being “here” for a few hours and finish taking care of things. I have challenges in this travel, so I appreciate your prayers so much! I just visited a dear friend who lost her husband, unexpectedly, and I found out a former student passed away. Each day is a gift and we have an eternal perspective that keeps our eyes on heaven. THank you for all the work for God’s Kingdom you are doing. Keep loving life, healing (I pray for you–I know the pain you must feel), and making memories (and coffee, don’t forget the coffee, brother). IN Christ’s love–little sis

      2. Prayed for comfort for your friend and your former students’ family. I am at the coffee shop right now, blogging. 🙂

      3. Thank you, brother. I just posted a piece I’ve worked on for a week, tee hee. God’s timing! I wish I could pull up a chair and sip coffee with you. Sip sip hooray! Let’s go get Gary too! Woot woot! I DO want to plan a blogging/writing event. That would be so fun to meet up in real time! God bless you brother!🤗🙏🙏

      4. Gary needs coffee I think 🙂
It would be fun to hang out with the two of you

  4. Love these sort of moments and it is wonderful that you are open to what and who God brings into your day

    1. Thank you Manu. These kind of moments are special. How are you?

  5. I can’t even try those because I can’t pronounce it. I always have to many o’s or s’s. I remember being with Cin and just calling it “The Poo Poo Place”.

    1. They are delicious however one spells it 🙂

  6. Thank you so much for sharing. I feel like I really needed to hear this because I’m sitting on my couch looking at a dumpster rental in Phoenix, AZ I got for my cleanout and renovation for me but I know I have an elderly neighbor who needs major yard work and a dumpster would really help us get it done faster. You inspired me to find more “spontaneous moments” to serve.

    1. God has given you an opportunity to bless your elderly neighbor

  7. Don’t you love those serendipity days? I think God has as much fun setting up those “random” occasions as much as we enjoy experiencing them.

(I can see why you liked “What Color Is Jesus?” 😉 )

    1. God delights in working in our lives 🙂
