As I reflect on the lyrics from Joy to the World
“Joy to the world; the Lord is come;
Let Earth receive her King;
Let ev’ry Heart prepare him room,
And Heav’n and nature sing.”
It brings to mind what Jesus said in John 3:16- “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Then I think about the refugees I will teach in my Welcome Class this morning. Some come from places where they do not hear about Jesus and their English level is so low, learning abcs low, that I would not be able to share with them, but can show them the love of Jesus and pray for God to bring people into their lives to share about Jesus with them.
Then I think about my students in my other classes whose English levels are high enough. They know I am a Christian. Some of the students are and some are not. I realize how I treat them in class shows them something about Jesus.
Then I think about my friends who I spend time with and are from El Salvador, Cuba, Ukraine, Venezuela, Vietnam etc., and am grateful we share our faith in Jesus with each others.
Then I think about my travels to Romania, France, Mexico and Brazil on ministry trips and am thankful I had the opportunity to share Jesus with people in those countries.
Then I think about the churches in my city Jesus has blessed me with helping, a Korean church, a Karen People church, a Vietnamese church, a Sudanese church, a few Hispanic churches, and New Breath the Ukrainian church.
I am thankful that Jesus has blessed me with sharing him with so many cultures. It has certainly expanded my understanding of what it means to sing Joy to the World.
What is a Christmas song that has special meaning for you?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
