Your language nerd/coffee loving fellow blogger here. The past few weeks have allowed me to combine two things I love, language learning and coffee shops. Ester is one of Pastor Alekseyi’s daughters. She has met with me at my coffee shop to help me learn Ukrainian several times.

She says I am learning fast, but I think she is being nice to the old guy. 🙂

She has helped me learn to say Jesus loves you, welcome to church, Merry Christmas in Ukrainian among other things. For fun, I learned how to say I am hungry in Ukrainian. I plan to surprise my Ukrainian friends with that tomorrow at New Breath.

My friend Luis from El Salvador helps me practice Spanish as we go to church. He has been giving me rides. Then we have lunch, pupusas, at an El Salvadoran restaurant here. So that combines other favorite activities of church, language and food.

What really causes me joy is the fact that my language learning is connected to Jesus. It is because of the ministry he has given me, the work he has me doing, and the friends I interact with at church, that the blessings of opportunities to practice languages are there for me.

It may surprise you that I am sitting in my coffee shop now and have partaken in another fav of mine, telling jokes.

How is your Saturday?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

      3. No she won’t. Thankfully there is FaceTime lol.

  4. As I look at this past post, coffee again offers a warm invitation. I’m chilling for awhile in downtown Columbus while I wait for my grandson. I chauffeur him every Wednesday, but I welcome the time to catch up with fellow bloggers. The scant amount of our first winter snow reminds me to accept the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior.

    1. Each Wednesday you have an opportunity to bless your grandson
