Surprise surprise, I came to my favorite coffee shop after my morning class. I met a young couple. The husband is originally from New York, then lived two years in China with his dad to experience his dad’s culture. The wife is from Turkmenistan. The husband as I said is from New York, lived in China for two years and ended up in a small city of 9,000 York Nebraska for high school. We laughed about the culture shock he must have felt going from large cities to a small town.

My barista gave me a Christmas themed mug because I told her some Christmas jokes.

I still do not feel ready for the holiday Christmas although my plans for Christmas are set. New Breath the Ukrainian church will have a special Christmas Day worship and fellowship time.

Though I love the reason for Christmas, I have never really looked forward to the holiday. But yesterday gave me a reminder of something I am looking forward to.

I saw a reel of a picture of the throne in heaven with the song Hallelujah. In my spirit, I was filled with a lot of joy and wanted to go to heaven right then and there. The ultimate reason for Christmas is that Jesus came to become our Savior because he wants us with him forever. That is something I looked forward to so much.

Are you looking forward to Christmas? Are you looking forward to eternity with Jesus? Are you ready for that?We become ready by coming to faith in and trusting in Jesus as our Savior.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Such a beautiful reminder. 😊

I also had a similar reflection this past week – looking forward to being able to celebrate Him in the fullness of His glory, eternally.

It’s blissful to be able to celebrate the birth of the one who desires us so much and longs to have us with Him forever. 😊

Merry Christmas in advance, big bro. 🤗

P.S: The mug is cute. 🙂

At first glance of the picture I thought you had a Santa beard. 😅

    1. Early Merry Christmas to you too little sister.
Celebrating in heaven will be the ultimate awesome experience

  2. Fun coffee mug

  3. I’m looking forward to eternity with Jesus, brother! I absolutely love seeing your expression with this coffee mug! It brings me much joy! Sip sip hooray! I’m leaving Thursday to have an early Christmas with my youngest son and family in Tulsa….which means….I still have more to do tomorrow! I’ve been teaching the last two days and the kids are stoked for Christmas! I told a few about Jesus because I COULD! I’m embracing peace, big brother. No matter what, I’m going to celebrate the real reason of Christmas and I pray we can keep that joy, peace, and longing for eternity all through the year! God bless you, Matt! Thank you for being a light in this world! 🙏

    1. Such a blessing for you to impact young lives little sister.
Going to Tulsa- are you driving, flying, or riding a horse? 🙂

      1. Thank you, big brother. Yes, I’m driving. I’ll admit, it’s taken me ALL day to prepare. I had to go give blood at my endocrinologist and that silly treatment has impacted my sleep. Packing, laundry, all the necessary steps. I’m here to say “see you next week” and am giving God the glory for allowing me to take out on this trip. I know his strength will guide me. I want to record a song with my little granddaughter, if possible. I pray that God works miracles in their family! God bless YOU, and thank YOU for all you do too, Matt! I’ll miss you all!🤗🙏

      2. Will miss you too
Record the song please share it

  7. Love this Post, pics, the details and honesties. Yes, Eternity completes why Christmas is here in the first place. Thank you for the aroma of Christ, seeping thru📯🎶✨

    1. Thank you 🙂
Eternity with Jesus is the whole reason he came 🙂

  8. I too get a lot more excited about our eternal celebration of our Savior than about Christmas, although I usually enjoy Christmas, too.

Thanks for stopping by “Seeking Divine Perspective.” I do hope you read “Mr. Walker’s Miracle,” as there’s much more than Christmas in the story – and the climax comes during the singing of the Hallelujah Chorus! (There are links included, so you can listen, too. 🙂👍🎶) Enjoy!
