Nancy of From The Inside Out shared a post about the history behind the song Joy To The World. After reading her post, it reminded me of a thought I have had about Joy To The World.

We sing it at Christmas time as a song of celebration that our Savior Jesus was born. I love the classic hymn. Jesus’s birth is something to celebrate indeed.
I have often thought that Joy To The World can be a celebration song that can celebrate two occasions. With lyrics of:
Joy to the world, the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
heaven and nature sing
let heaven and nature sing
let heaven and heaven and nature sing
It seems to me Joy To The World would be a great song to sing after The Second Coming of Jesus too. When Jesus returns, he will return as King of the earth, Lord of all. The curse on nature will end. There will be no war, famine, or disease. That is truly worth celebrating.
Just a thought I wanted to pass along.
When Jesus returns, will you be celebrating?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
