We are waiting on a possible snow storm here. By possible, where I live, I mean the predictions are rarely correct. But like everyone else, later today the dreaded deed will occur- shopping. Shopping to stock up.

Predictions are something that, for me anyway, should be met with healthy caution. This is not about weather forecasts, which in my area are exaggerated, but this is about predicting when Jesus will return.

Yes, we are given general signs of the end times by Jesus in the gospels. But Jesus also said in Acts 1:7-8

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

So we do not know the exact time of Jesus’s return. We are told general signs to look for. But Jesus redirected their focus from when he would set up his kingdom on earth to going out to tell the nations about him.

It would be beyond wonderful if Jesus returned this year. I feel quickened in my spirit about the possible return of Jesus in my lifetime. But it should motivate me to share him with others. The desire to see others be ready is on my heart and mind.

So for this year, my desire is to continue sharing Jesus’s love and that he is The Savior and to be willing to be led by Jesus into new ways of doing so.

By the way, I will let you know if snow actually happens here. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I pray everyday for family members and friends who do not have Christ in their lives, continually conscious that time must surely be short until he returns. With you I want to be bold in sharing about Christ each opportunity that presents itself. May hearts of stone become hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 26:36)–willing to consider that Jesus IS who he says he is, the Son of God and the Savior of those who believe in him, and willing to respond.

  2. Enjoy the snow Matt. When I finished with mens breakfast this morning the temps had skyrocketed to -13. I guess we will not get in the way of your system….Shopping here too though.

    1. -13 you are in the midst of a heat wave lol
Have you been ice fishing yet?

      1. yes, ice is 12-16 inches thick. Good enough to drive vehicles on. Grandkids caught fish over Christmas. I put some fish pictures on my blog.

  3. All things in life should be met with a healthy caution. Hope the snowstorm isn’t as bad as predicted.

      1. Yes, always. I don’t miss waiting for the bus in the snow though haha.

      2. I would have thought waiting for the bus in the snow would be a fav for you haha

      3. One way or another, it’s certainly not something I will be forgetting any time soon lol.

  4. Here in Kansas we’ve had freezing drizzle all day and now it’s picked up quite a bit. It will change to snow with very strong winds during the night and tomorrow so we have a blizzard warning now. I love winter weather as long as I don’t have to get out in it. Stay safe if you get weather there, and keep looking up for Jesus!

    1. Freezing drizzle is worse than snow.

      1. I agree! How is it up there for you this morning? Overnight we had thunder sleet and now it’s very windy and snowing.

      2. We had a whole 1 inch of snow in my city lol

      3. Ha! I think we got 4 or 5″ here near Wichita. The worst thing is the ice and the extreme cold. We’ve been inside since Saturday and tomorrow looks the same unless I get brave and venture out.

      4. Ice is the worst. I wondered about that for you when I saw the forecast for Kansas

  5. Amen! Good word. Stay safe and warm. It has been a warm winter here so far but we are dropping from the 60’s down to the 20’s tomorrow.

    1. It is going to be below zero at night here for a few days lol

  6. Cold here too, but probably not on the same scale. Awoke to snow this morning and now sleet has washed most away – rivers of icy sleet rushing along the roads.

But God is faithful and at the perfect time, He will return. We can trust Him to do it right on time.

    1. His timing will be perfect 🙂
