My friend Leandro is from Cuba. This is his first winter here in Nebraska, so he is experiencing cold weather for the first time. The other day he was giving me a ride and he complained that his hands were cold. I asked if he had gloves and sure enough he did. I suggested he put them on and he did. Then I joked with him that I taught him that gloves work better if we wear them. Funny how his gloves were with him, but he had to put them on for them to work.

God is always with us and more than ready and able to help. But how often do we miss out because of one simple mistake, we do not ask. Jesus taught that God our Father knows what we need before we ask, but we need to take that step of asking. God wants us to pray and spend time with him. God always wants to hear from us.

God’s Word is there for us to give us guidance, comfort, understanding, and best of all know God, but we sometimes miss the step of picking up our bible, or in our modern days opening our bible apps, and reading.

Sometimes the simple explanation is to use what is available like Leandro’s gloves.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Nice analogy of the gloves 🙂

  2. This is a great word picture, brother Matt. Many times God’s provision is right under our noses. I can understand though why a guy from Cuba would not even think about wearing his gloves.
