Friday a frantic search happened. It involved my cell phone. It had slipped out of my jacket pocket. Funny how dependent we have become, how I have become, on cell phones. I searched for it and then a sense relief set in when I found it.

Jesus spoke about lost things in Luke 15. He starts with the lost sheep and how a shepherd will leave the 99 to go search for the one lost sheep after finding it celebrates. Then Jesus talks about a woman who lost a coin, searched for it, and calls her friends to come celebrate.
Then Jesus talks about the lost son. The son who leaves his father’s home and wastes his life on partying. When the son, with not the purist of motives, returns home, his father sees him coming and runs to embrace him. The father orders a celebration feast to be set up.

There is rejoicing in heaven when a person comes to know Jesus as their Savior. Our Father in heaven runs to us to embrace us. Our motives are not the purist. We are in need of his forgiveness, but the Father runs to embrace us when we come to him through Jesus.
Have you felt that embrace from God? It starts with coming to Jesus and asking for forgiveness trusting in him as your Savior.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
